The Matt Hotel & Education Center is located in Schwarzenberg, Lucerne Canton (LU), a renowned climatic health resort in Central Switzerland, 831 meters above the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Its peaceful mountain setting combines nature and panoramic views with easy accessibility. By car, you can reach the Matt from Lucerne in about 20 minutes.

The total travel time by public transportation from Lucerne Station is approximately 30 minutes. Take the S6 to Malters, then transfer to PostBus 211 and ride to the Ennenmatt stop. From there, it’s about a five-minute walk to the hotel.

The hotel has 44 rooms with a total of 99 beds. Guests can choose from single, double, business, and family rooms, as well as apartments and a suite. Rooms can be easily reserved online through the website, by email, or by phone. For groups, we recommend making a direct inquiry.

Summer: Numerous hiking and biking trails start right at the hotel. The Schwarzenberg region and nearby Eigenthal offer a variety of routes for leisurely walks as well as more challenging hikes. Attractions such as Mount Pilatus and the city of Lucerne are also within easy reach.

Winter: Depending on snow conditions, the winter hiking trails and snowshoe routes around Schwarzenberg invite you to enjoy active days in nature. Cross-country ski trails are located in nearby Eigenthal. We’d be happy to provide you with information about current conditions when you arrive.

Our guests can use the sauna, sanarium, infrared cabin, and solarium for a fee. The Kneipp Park is available free of charge. Thai massages can also be booked.

All rooms feature a south-facing balcony with mountain views and awnings, offering an unobstructed view of the Lucerne mountains.

The Matt Hotel & Education Center is fully accessible. Accessible restrooms are available on both the ground floor and the upper floor. We also have three wheelchair-accessible rooms.

Check-in is available daily starting at 3:00 p.m.

Latest check-in time is 8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.

If you arrive outside of these hours, your room keys will be in our keybox. We will provide you with your personal access code in advance.

Check-out is by 10:00 a.m.

Late check-out until 2:00 p.m. is available for CHF 20, subject to availability.

We do not currently have our own electric vehicle charging station. We would be happy to provide you with information about charging options in the surrounding area upon request.

Our breakfast buffet is available daily from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

There are 60 free parking spaces available directly in front of the hotel. Bus and coach parking spaces are also available. RVs may also park here upon prior arrangement.

Pets are welcome here. We charge a flat fee of CHF 20.00 per day for dogs. Please let us know when you make your reservation.

Families are warmly welcome at the Matt. Depending on the season, we offer special activities. Cribs are available upon request.

Half-board can be booked by both hotel guests and groups. We’d be happy to provide you with information about current prices and menu options when you make your reservation.

Full board can be booked by both seminar groups and hotel guests. It includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We’d be happy to provide you with information about menu options and current prices when you make your reservation.

Our front desk is open daily starting at 7:00 a.m. and will be happy to assist you with any inquiries. It is staffed Monday through Saturday until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday until 4:00 p.m. If you plan to arrive outside of these hours, please contact us in advance.
